"That which is Ordinary is rendered

EXTRAORDINARY BY NATHAN!"

From the moment I saw Nathan’s portfolio I knew that he would be the best Santorini photographer for our wedding. His attention to detail, especially the easily overlooked details that give character to a wedding, was impeccable. More, his photographic philosophy really spoke in his photographic work and, as a someone who writes academically about photography, this meant a lot. Beyond this, he was extremely responsive, provided a vision (of which we discussed thoroughly), and transparent about all aspects of the process. His photographic work, in simplest terms, is extraordinary! His keen eye is able to find that which is similarly ordinary to render it life-like. I highly, without question, recommend Nathan!

"That which is Ordinary is rendered Extraordinary by Nathan!"

Hi, Nathan Here!

“When it comes to a wedding day I am forever aiming to make inspiring images, ones that have impact and dynamic content. Whether it’s tears of joy as the couple say their I do’s or hysterical laughter at the grooms expense by his best man’s speech.
As well as taking the photos, I am there to make couples feel at ease in order to get the best results and actually have fun on the day.
As a wedding photographer, I understand the importance of being very observant and confident with the camera. This is essential in situations when you don’t have much time to respond, especially in spontaneous scenarios when a moment is only there once and cannot be recreated. My objective is to creatively capture real moments that have the ability to move and evoke ones emotions. Every wedding story is a unique celebration of love and once the day is over its through the power of imagery that the couple can relive those profound feelings for years to come.

Having studied at Central St. Martins, London and University Of Plymouth, graduating in 2003 with Bachelor Of Arts in Photography, Nathan gained invaluable skills and a broader understanding of the art of photography. His academic background in photography supported the development of a particular style as a wedding photographer offering a product that is not only professional but also unique.
Nathan’s work has been featured in various international magazines such as Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, OK Magazine, Who Magazine, MunaLuchi Bride and Polka Dot Bride, to name just a few.
Since working professionally in the wedding photography world for over 15 years Nathan has gained extensive knowledge and experience, making him a top choice photographer.

“I prefer to work with natural light and since the mediterranean colour is so vibrant and rich it offers endless amounts of inspiration from a photographic aspect. Any couples that choose the Greek islands whether it be Santorini, Mykonos, Crete or perhaps lesser known gems as their wedding destination they will be enchanted by their unique energy and will have the most memorable wedding celebration, one that I would be honoured to capture! Please feel free to get in touch and let me know if there is anything you wish to discuss about your wedding day, looking forward to meeting you”!! Nathan

Q&A

Photography, like many other art forms is very subjective and the most important thing is to find a photographer who’s posing style and editing techniques you like. One important aspect to consider is that certain trends are fashionable for only a limited period of time, so when choosing a photographer we would recommend you to go for a natural look instead of fake looking images, because natural images are timeless and never go out of fashion.

One indication that you are dealing with an experienced photographer is their extensive and diverse portofolio with a substantial number of weddings to show on their website. It is very important to see examples of previous weddings captured from start to finish. It is essential to visualise every part of the wedding day captured in photos. If photographers show just a selection of few best images of the day, but not the whole event, they may be good at capturing only one part of the wedding but not the other. That’s why is important to chose a team that shows all aspects, including: preparations, ceremony, congratulations, group photos, private scenic tour, entrance, speeches, cake cutting, first dance and party. It is absolutely necessary for your photographer to honour you a consistent and complete collection of photos, after all this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Having a photographer that you like from home can have benefits of course, especially if you know them personally, but placing them in an unknown territory they will not be able to produce the same quality of images like a team of photographers that know the island with it’s iconic photography spots, some to avoid at all costs and some not to miss. A local team will also know when and where to shoot depending on the time of the day and light conditions.

You can choose the number of wedding photography hours, depending on your budget. Of course, if you are planning an elopement, 3 – 4 hours are sufficient for capturing preparations, ceremony and scenic tour but if you are having an event where family and friends are invited as well, you may want to allocate time for capturing some if not all of the following events:

  • 1 – 2 hours hours for the bridal party and groom preparations
  • 1 – 1.5 hours for the ceremony, congratulations and group photos
  • 1 – 1.5 hours for the private couple’s scenic tour
  • 0.30 – 1 hour for the speeches
  • 1 – 2 hours for the party including cake cutting and first dance
