Canary Islands - Tenerife Styled Shoot

The subtropical landscape of the Canary Islands could easily be described as the Hawaii of the Atlantic. Also known an Macronesia. The islands are known for their volcanic terrain, a variety of microclimates and biodiversity. As a photographer the idea was to transfer these defining characteristics of Tenerife and to incorporate them into a conceptual wedding shoot. The concept to create an almost dream like state using the islands captivating botanical landscape.

The photo-shoot took place in one of the many botanical gardens of Tenerife.. Here you can discover the famous millennial dragon tree (drago milenario), as well as other endemic species from the island. Furthermore the dragon tree is the main attraction by far in this park and a symbol of Tenerife.  Standing at 18 metres high and with a 20-metre perimeter it’s believed to be over 800 years old. Making it one of the oldest trees in the world.  What we discovered that day in this unique landscape was a true inspiration for me and offered a magical backdrop to this Canarian photo-shoot.
